Here is her original request, posted in January, with a photo of several gunners who have just received their MBEs or other honour from the Duke of Windsor, in May 1937.
She is curious about an incident where a warning shot was fired at a vessel that did not heave-to. The shot passed through the wheelhouse, killing a crewman. Charles McLean may have been connected to that incident - and we'd all like to have the story if you know it.
